I wonder if anyone have tried out bigger trasformers than the one's which is recommended ? I know some guys who have been experimenting with bigger trnsformers. They have replaced the 30va-9vac, and went up to 200va- 18vac, and the result is stunning. Better dynamics and a darker background. What causes this ?

Learning by doing,,,,changed the transformers. Went from 30va to 225va on Placid BP, and from 15va to 250va on Placid HD (2 of theese. Have one for BIIi and one for Exa)
And it is NOT imagination that the bigger transformers is a step up the latter. Better dynamics and resolution with a darker and more quiet background.
I have also tried smaller transformers ( 160va) and the benefit is the same.
As it turn up in a thread about ripple on Placid, RW suggest bigger transformers ( and caps) as a part of a solution to solve this problem.
As always thrust your ears guys.
