Will it be same size board as Buff1 and will it interface to Ivy - IOW will I be able to upgrade from Buff1 to Buff2 in same box etc?

If Buff2 board is bigger I can scope for it now as I am designing box for Buff1...etc..

I cannot answer yet. The board is still in the design stage.

First of all, let me express my applause for your job Applause

As to new Buffalo32 DIY DAC project - I think it would be actually cool to be able to separate power supply from ES9012 board itself - the same way as you did for audio buffer. A reason for that (at least from my DIY experience) is to leave the door open for for power supply tweaking. Different capacitors, regulators, etc - I am sure you know that to the bone, it is also a good way to fine tune DAC sound for the rest of the system. If you leave it on the same board with SMD mounting, frequent changes of elements destroy fragile tracks easily.

I do like tweaking in this part (especially analog supply for DAC) as sometimes not necessarily the best elements result in most enjoyable sound.

Keep up good work!
