I purchased a Joshua Tree 1st gen kit a number of years ago and used it at the input of a balanced preamp.(2 relay boards stacked) I did not read carefully enough and discovered it has a 2.2K - 10K input load, and a 750 ohm output impedance. I have sources now that are not going to be happy with that kind of load. Is there any reason that I couldn't use it at the output of a solid state preamp stage that can happily drive a 2.2K load? And..with the 750 ohm output impedance of the Joshua, will the preamp be as happy driving cables and a 10K input on the amplifier as having the preamp output drive it directly without the Joshua in line?

Sure - you could use a line driver at either end - or both.
