Hi all, I noticed that when I start-up my system that one channel is very soft and it sounds overmodulated. I had it one time before when the Vin wasn't correctly connected. The Isolated WaveIO circuit did'nt get enough voltage causing a similar effect. The Teleporter is fed by 5,25V. One time during the event I measured nearly no voltage at the Dip Switch Resistors (should be around 3V) This is where I tap my power for the Isolated circuit for the WaveIO. Suddenly the voltage passed trough and everything worked normal. I decided to feed the Isolator circuit by the Vin terminal again and reducing the the voltage by a LED. Again with the same result but now the 3V was delivered to the Dip Sw resistors. I'm unable to reproduce this effect when everything was restored again. It takes me till the next morning before this effect kicks in. Yesterday again but now without taking measurements After approx. 5 minutes everything works normal. Seems like the system has to warm up. Does the Voltage regulator has some kind of Under/Overvoltage protection build in? If it is it's activated without any reason. For now I get the system started but I might have to do with a dying Voltage regulator or so. Any thougths or experience with this? Thanks in advance! Today again.
All the voltages up to the + side of the LED are ok.
Also the voltage at the Dip Sw resistors.
Behind the LED the voltage is nearly 0.
I removed the LED, for reducing the voltage, again and placed the wire from that Dip Sw Resistor tap point back.
Maye it was a one time event or so...

Well,
Something was dying..
Suddenly the whole LH channel stopped working.
I've traced it back to the Hypex NCore..... :'(

Never mind. My vacuum cleaner disconnected a speaker lead. The startup problem was still present tough but I removed the voltage reduction. I source 5v from the teleporter to the Isolated circuit of the Waveio. The scope was picking up a lot of noise at the placid terminals but just as with the placid for the main power of the waveio I placed a 100uF capacitor at the teleporter terminals. Ok, re-opened again and set as Issue. Every cold start from my system PC--> WaveIO-->Teleporter--> Teleporter--> Sidecar--> BIII(LH+RH)--> IVY(LH+RH) the LH channel sounds soft and over modulated with a lot of noise for about 5 minutes. All PSU's voltages and Shunt Currents are okay and both Lock Leds are steady. What can I check? Thx, Jordo To be complete: The IVY's are linked to the Ventus Headphone Amp and to the Hypex Amplifier. Start by simplifying.
I guess you can eliminate both Teleporters. Connect the WaveIO directly to the sidecar or even better, connect the WaveIO directly to the BIII.

It seems to be static distortion.
I have tried several configurations for the Data Wires (WClock, Data LClock) between the sending Telepoerter and the WaveIO isolated outputs.
Back to basic without Shielding it performs quite well without distortions.
When moving the - wire away from the Bit Clock wire static distortion is noticed.
With shielding the same happens but maybe there is something with the wires.
I will experiment a little bit more.
Shielding must be better than without shielding but the question is wether and how to ground the shielding..

I've got it.
One of the Placid HD BP's negative rail is'nt comming up to power.
I've had this once before right after installation but it hasn't happened ever since.
I know there was an item with it with a modification but I have not performed it because it alway went well ever since.
I will move on to the Placid thread....
