Hello
I've a buoght a Buffalo II with 100Mhz without any modification and Placid PSU.
It's second hand but I soldered the connectors and used it for the first time.
I've the same problem with S/Pidif and I2S: 44Khz about ok(very little distortion like saturation), 96Khz some distortion and clicks, 192Khz a lot of noise and distortion.
The leds of AVC don't light every time the same.
I use as transport an SD Trans 192 Ver.3.0
I've also a ES9023 I2S dac and it works perfect.
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks a lot
Guglielmo

Have you checked the shunt current of the Placid?

I checked when I built it, but tomorroy I'll verify the current again.
Thanks

Hello,
I measured 260mA and not 350mA as indicated in the manual of the Placid.
Now is too late, but tomorrow I'll trim at 350mA. And I'll made nw tests.
Thanks a lot for the moment.
Ciao Gugleimo

Hello,
With 350mA everything seems OK.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Now I've only to verify the groud connection to eleminate a bit of hum.
There is any circuit drawing on the net?
For the moment I'm using the the board dirctely as voltage output.
Grazie
Guglielmo

There is a circuit diagram of the Placid, but not for the BII.

Any hum would be cause from something external to both modules. :)

It would be a wiring/routing issue.
