I cannot get a lock from the USB module when input as SPDIF to the mux module. The Buffalo will lock to the SPDIF out straight from the USB, but not the mux. Any ideas on where I should look? The lock LED just flashes briefly and then turns off. When I run SPDIF from my soundcard I get a lock, so the mux module is ok. Edited by user Wednesday, September 16, 2009 6:52:38 AM(UTC)

Have you tried another SPDIF source into the same input of the mux?

What voltage do you measure at the VBUS pad (referenced to the GND pad)?
And what are your MUX switch settings?

And what are your MUX switch settings? I'm measuring 4.99 at the VBUS terminal. MUX settings are: 1 - 2 + 3 + 4 -

Try:
1 - 2 - 3 + 4 -
See if that works.

See if that works. Made no difference I'm afraid.

Ok, try using the AES input (#4), supplying the + and - pins.

I tried with a different USB module, same thing. Also tried a different MUX, same thing. I'm out of ideas here.

I am puzzled as well. You may need to shield it from cosmic rays... perhaps a tinfoil hat will do it?

I think it might be working now. I switched around the units and now I'm running a v1.0 mux. The other one was a newer 1.01 mux.

I still have a problem with one of my muxes. It does not respond on input 2 and I cant seem to figure out why. Any ideas on where I should look? Same control and input wiring as well as power works on a different mux.

Can you take a close-up picture of it? It may be a missing part or bad part value. I assume you checked the terminal block solder joints...
