Hi Russ, Brian.

Wanted to use the s/w interface f the WM884 v1 but I noticed that pin 3 is connected directly to gnd. Is there anyway to connect this to VDD besides cutting that leg of the chip?. I notice that in V2 pin 3 is connected to a resistor.

It was designed for hardware mode. So you would have to do some surgery.

Bummer. Is lifting the leg the only way or is it connected to GND some other way (via/trace). Those legs are SMALL!

It's connected to a GND plane under the chip, so you would have to lift it.
