Hi, I have now received the Buffalo 3-SE-Pro (ES9028). After connecting to IVY then there is totally silent. I'm running with SPDIF input. SW 1: 1-6 is set to ON and 7-8 is OFF (Hybrid fast roll-off, minimum phase) SW 2: 1-8 is set to ON based on setting recommendation https://github.com/twist...SE-Pro-On-Board-FirmwareHave I misunderstood something?

Whats the status of the automute and lock lights? Do you have a lock?

I have done further testing.
There is a fault in my IVY which I haven't figured out yet the root cause.
I got the BIII-SE-Pro to work with SPDIF.
However with 4:1 SPDIF mux hooked up to BIII-SE-Pro then I got a lot of noise (it is working with BIII). Jumper setting for SW1:
1: off (SERIAL(PCM/DSD))
2-3: ON (I2S)
4-5: OFF, ON (24bit)
6-8: ON, OFF, OFF (Hybrid fast roll-off, minimum phase)

Apologies - I have never used the 4:1 SPDIF mux. Is the output of that I2S? (in which case you have the switches correctly set)

No worries.
According to the 4:1 SPDIF mux manual then the PCM output is 24bit I2S format.

That is: set I2S input, Automute, disconnect I2S input - and see what happens (I get a momentary blink after 1.5 seconds on automute)
Wierdly, I have 2 I2S inputs on an OTTO2 that behave differently - one generates clicks and intermittent locks - the other can sometimes give an automute (cronos/amanero) and a bit of hiss
Neither amount to listening pleasure :-(

Has anyone gotten the BIII-SE-Pro (ES9028) to work with I2S input and if so which dipswitch settings were used?
I have only tried with CS8416 4:1 MUX and has not succeeded yet. It is just loud noise coming out.

The only DIP switch you should need to change from default is SW1:1 to OFF.

Thanks Brian, I'm using your CS8416 MUX and according to your documentation then it outputs 24bit word length (The PCM output is 24bit I2S format) so DIP switch 4 and 5 shall be off on 24-bit Or is this a wrong assumption?

I honestly don't recall if the word length of that device is 32bits or 24 - It's easy enough to give it a try - just have the volume low in case you get noise. I seem to think the word length of the I2S output of that device is 32bits - even if the content is only 24bits (it's zero padded)
