I would love to help you, if only I knew what you are asking.
By "Current not signal" I suppose you means "current not voltage" ??
The Legato is an I/V stage. Current (I) to voltage (V) stage.
Why do you need a current signal ?
In your setup what comes after (downstream) the Legato ? A poweramp, headphones, ???

Sorry but I really can't understand your question.
The Legato can do +-1.8V @ 250mA output. More than enough to drive any preamp.

I only have problems playing DSD files using dave slage Autoformer Volume Control, and his answer was: "The only two things that can cause you issues with the bass are unbalanced current or an extremely high source impedance (10K+)" http://www.intactaudio.c....php?t=1424&start=30

Don't know, can't figure out. Unbalanced current, don't know what that means.

I am having a hard time following just what problem you are having and how your system is set up.
Can you draw a picture with all the parts of the system, from the DSD source all the way through to your speakers?
I am just guessing here, but I think your problem is the DSD source not zeroing the outputs when play stops.

Do you have a link to describe the "26 tube preamp"?

how are you connecting the balanced outputs to the tube stage (single-ended)?
The Legato has DC-offset from + and - to GND, so you need to compensate for that. It is not a problem (generally) for balanced input gear.

Okay, so I assume you have dialed out the DC from the Legato's outputs, and that the tube preamp isn't outputting DC. Have you tried updating the firmware on the Amanero? Also, when you are seeing this DC, is the Lock light still on and Mute off on the DAC? Edited by user Tuesday, May 19, 2015 2:17:50 PM(UTC)

Yes, no DC from the Legato output, yes preamp isn't outputting DC.
No.
If I remember correctly yes: Lock light ON and Mute OFF on the DAC.

Okay. I think the DC is coming from the Amanero. Try upgrading the firmware to the latest version.
