Hi

It seems that the buffaloIIIse is a real nice solution for my dac project.

In the setup I would like to use it with Amanore usb and a tube output stage (ex. lampizator).

I have some questions and hope you can help....

1. Will it Work fully DSD256/512 with Amanero (in Windows pc)?
2. How do I connect a LCD/LED info dislpay?
3. Can I, more or less, use a tube output stage instead of Ivy/Legato?
4. It the es9018 larest revision?
5. Does es9018 run as voltage or current output?

Pls forgive if some answers already is in the manual.

1. Yes.
2. That would be a separate project, but the Buffalo has an I2C interface you can connect to for control of the DAC.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. It depends on the input impedance of your output stage. Into near-zero ohms (such as IVY or Legato), the ES9018 will act as a current source. Into a higher impedance, it will act as a voltage source (transformers, typical tube output stages).

Yes, but it'll take a little more work: you'll need to combine the outputs yourself.

What do you mean by "single-ended"?

The outputs of both DACs are differential, and should feed a balanced output stage to benefit from common-mode cancellation of noise. Without this, you will have seriously degraded performance.

Hi Brian

I meant just normal stereo output, unbalanced.
...or rather, it should feed my tube output stage, which is stereo unbalanced.
