I'm finally assembling my Buffalo 24. I need to know how much current the VD(digital supply) 5-15 VDC. (6VDC recommended) and the VA(analog supply) 6-12VDC (6.6 VDC recommended) will draw.

I have two Placid supplies for this purpose and I just want to set them up properly.

Thanks

Seriously ? Buffalo24. That's an old lady.

VA is next to nothing. Initial try 100mA
VD is somewhat more. Initial try 300mA.

It's pretty easy to test, as long as you knows how the shunt supply works.

Voltage sags - not shunting enough current.
Too hot - you're shunting to much current.

Always check with a DMM, both cold and warm.

(if you insists, I can take apart one of my retired B24 and do the measurement)

Yeah... I had the module for years. I took a break from diy for a few years. I figured it's better than the dac stage in my music hall cdp. Plus it has balanced outputs and that's the direction I want to go in.

I'll go with those settings, they seem logical
