Whether inches or metres, I'm pretty sure Russ simply means to use the teleporters to block (or reduce) induced noise. Though as I understand it, the teleporters are not actual isolation devices, right?

Can I please ask some further questions on this:

1) is the noise that miero measured likely to have a noticeable effect on SQ?

2a) alternative isolation devices, such as those discussed on the diyaudio forum, are known to add jitter, and the convention appears to be to reclock the I2S signals after these isolation devices.
Do the teleporters add a similar degree of jitter compared to those other devices, and if so, does the idea of reclocking after the teleporter-receiver have merit?

2b) or does the ES9018's jitter-reduction regime make this unnecessary?

It greatly depends on the amplifier. But surely it is better to not have such noise at the DAC output.

I am using the pi's I2S with the Buffalo 2, works great. I have Legato, not Ivy, but I don't think it matters.
