Placid outputs 5.5V unconnected. When connected to the Buffalo II, voltage drops to 0.009V (measured at Buffalo II inputs). It worked fine yesterday. What could be the trouble? Edited by moderator Tuesday, December 4, 2012 12:51:43 AM(UTC)

Sounds like a short - could be a dead regulator.

I think I could probably replace one if need be. I have a spare Placid available if that will be useful for diagnosis.

Time to buy Tridents?
I assume that will be the easiest solution.

Have you checked if the on board regulators are working OK?

Pretty sure that at least one has failed. I'm just waiting for some Tridents which should solve the issue and improve the sound at the same time.

Don't forget to desolder the ferrite beads.

Thanks felipe. Already done :) I have also reduced my Placid voltage and increased the current as advised.
