Is it safe to assume that one can power the MUX and Buffalo off of the same LCDPS? It looks like the input voltage range is similar, just wondering if there are issues I'm not seeing.

Thanks!

Thanks Russ, that's what I figured but I always prefer the better safe than sorry approach. :)

Sorry for resurrecting an old topic with a very naive question; I've just "won" a Buffalo32 & ordered the 9V and 15V transformers, Placid and Bipolar Placid, Legato and 4:1 MUX. I guess I also need to order a separate power supply and transformer for the latter? What's the best option please?

Thanks!

Tony.

Do you mean a Buffalo II?

One placid should work fine powering both MUX and Buf II. If you decide to add tridents you might want to use two Placids.

Sorry, meant Buffalo II...

Thanks Russ, slightly off-topic but I'm intending to get the Tridents when they become available again so I'll order another Placid at the same time. Will this require another transformer?

No, one transformer should do the job. :)

My eagerly-awaited Buffalo II's arriving tomorrow along with the other pieces as detailed in my previous posting. I received the Tridents a couple of weeks ago but alas I forgot to order an additional Placid to power them as you recommend Russ.

As these are out of stock, is it better not to install the Tridents now, or will the existing Placid cope with powering all three items for the time being?

If the Placid is one of the latest versions you shouldn't have any trouble getting it to work with a B2 with Tridents and a Mux. If it's an older version you might have trouble getting enough current out of it in which case you'll want to lower R5 or R6, depending on the version you have.

Thanks for the very helpful reply Leon. The Placid will be coming with the Buffalo II so I guess it's the latest version and will be able to cope.
