Hi!

I'm in progress of building a new 8 ch DAC with:
- One Buffalo III board
- four Legato 3.1 boards
- one exaU2I USB-I2S interface
- Use the Buffalo III's integrated volumecontrol adding a sigle pot.

Questions:
- What will I need for power-supply?
- Will this be adequate to drive poweramps direct?
- My idea is for 6 ch to power amps an two for headphones (sennheiser hd 800)- OK setup?

In your case I would suggest LCBPS x 4. Using one for 2 legatos.

yes you can easily drive the power amps direct.

This will be an awesome setup.

Just to clarify, the volume pot comes in the kit.

Is this suggestion based on price, heat-problems or SQ?

Basically simplicity and current.

I would also strongly suggest IVY vs legato here, but this will depend on if your primary use will be SE or balanced.
