Hi,

One of the 6 boards I purchased in Sept. is not working right.
Is there any maintenance for this Metronome product?

What is the problem with it? Have you tried swapping it with one of your other Metronomes?

Brian,

I use the Metronome board on the same 1955Pro DAC. I set the dip switches on the board accordingly and put them into the 1955Pro DAC one by one.
This operation goes smooth for the first FIVE boards and the DACs were sent back to their owners already.

But when I use the sixth one on the last DAC, it gives off "noise" and there is no signal. The display on the DAC reads 44.1 instead of 192.
I will try to "borrow" one DAC back these few days and try to put this problematic one into it. Will give you further details later this week.

Brian,

I now got two Metronome with problem. I managed to borrow another working 1955pro with a working Metronome installed for testing.

The first problematic board gives NO SIGNAL at all. The display of the DAC shows "no signal" instead of showing 192kHz.

The second problematic board gives off white noise once I turned on the DAC. The display shows the usual 192kHz.

I have double checked all the dip switches settings and all other connections.
What should I do now? The boards were all ordered on Sept 18, 2011.

But the Metronome from the "working 1955pro" still works correctly?

Brian,

Actually we (as a group of DIYers in Hong Kong) have ordered more than 15 of these Metronome from you guys since a year ago or so. All the Metronome worked fine except these two.

The one without signal now works for a couple of days and then it is gone.
The another one gives off noise at the very beginning.

Your going to need to provide much more detail about what you did with the ones you had. :)

We have no idea what you decided to do with them.

Can you provide a little more detail? Pictures would be good.

Dear Russ,

We purchased the Metronome ASRC boards from you guys and we install them into our 1955PRO DACs. So far, we have installed more than 15 boards without trouble at all.
The only problem we have is with the last batch we ordered in Sept. 2 out of the 6 boards got problems.

All the working boards give a display like the one shown in the following link and produce nice sounding.

The FIRST board with trouble produces the same DISPLAY but when we turn on the volume, it gives out White Noise instead of music.
The SECOND board worked fine for a few days and then all of a sudden, it is gone. The display says "No Signal".

I have took photos of the boards and I can't see any signs of damage there. That is why we are wondering whether you guys can help us to fix them.

Double check with a DMM the the switches are actually set as they should be. Visually checking may not be enough.

Also it is almost always best to use the auto-mute jumper.

Dear Russ,

We removed the Auto Mute Jumper right before we take the photos. We use a wire to short it.
We have set and then reset the switches twice already. Will go through what you suggested again anyway.

If the above fail, does this suggest problem with the SRC4192 chip?
