Buffalo v1.1 recommended VA and VD input voltages

Hi,
I'm reworking the PSU for my Buffalo v1.1 and would like to know what the upper limit for input voltage is please. The reason I ask is that I'll be feeding VD and VA from recycled Andy Weekes' super-regulators which, in their current configuration, have a minimum output voltage of 8V. I could reconfigure the regulators for 6V and 6.6V, but that requires replacing opamps, diodes, and other stuff of the reg boards.... it's a pain in the butt.
Can I get away with 8V input for VD and VA? Would there be any undesirable side effects? Is it better just to bite the bullet and reconfigure the superregs?
Thanks in advance, Carl

8V will work. The vregs might get a little warm, but they should be fine. Their max input voltage is 15V, so you are a hair over 50%.

Very cool, thanks for the fast response. I'm curious about the reasoning for the Buffalo manual specifying 6V and 6.6V for the power rails. Let's pretend I'm a really fussy audiophile who cares about whether a difference of 2V and 1.4V makes a difference to sound quality.... does it?
