Hi,
I have a few questions regarding the Buffalo32s Dac that I hope you will respond to:
1. I live in Denmark, where we have standard 220 V (50 Hz) supply. Is that a problem for the Buffalo32s kit?
2. How do you rate the difficulty of making a complete Buffalo32s dac? (I have wired up a preamp made by assempled kits before, but I am not very experienced in these matters and have no technical bagground, nor any equipment besides a soldering iron:-).
3. Is it possible as an alternative to purchase a completely ready made (plug-and-play) Buffalo32s dac from you, and if "yes" what would the total price be?

Hi, I live in Europe and if you let me know how you intend to use the Buffalo32s DAC, I will be happy to assist you. You will need 230V prim - 18V sec transformers to feed AC voltage to the power supplies. send me an email, fas948@hotmail.com

However, I still hope that the people at Twisted Pear Audio will chime in too - especially regarding eventual 'plug-and-play-dacs'. Thanks!

1. This will depend on the transformers you use The ones we sell have dual 115V primaries that are designed to work equally well with either 115V or 230V. (You do not strictly need 18V secondaries, which would in fact might be a little high. For the digital section (5VDC) you want something in the 7-12V range (we sell a 9V model for this) For the analog sections (+-15VDC) you want something in the 15-18V range (we sell a 15V model for this). 2. Since the DAC itself is already built, you only need to be able to solder the connections (the connectors we supply are one option, another is direct wiring). You will need to be able to built the power supplies, which requires some soldering skill and basic understanding of electronics. You will also need at least a voltage meter in order to properly adjust the power supplies prior to attaching them to the DAC. 3. Not at this time, but it is something we are looking into. 1. If I purchase the dacs, the power supplies, the needed trafo's, will I then have all the necessay parts (except a cabinet and RCA terminals etc.) for a complete Buffalo32s dac?
2. Are all the products 'in stock' and if not, how long is the expected delivery time?

1. Yes. The kits include the modules, parts, mounting hardware. You need to supply everything else.
2. Yes, if something is out of stock, I mark it as such on the site. The caveat with the Buffalos, do to high demand, is a buffer I add to allow my time to keep up with orders. If you were to order a Buffalo today, it would ship the week of Aug 24th (or possibly before that) as noted on the web page.
