I put B32 in a sealed aluminum case and the chips, especially op amps, gets really hot.
Does the case need ventilation holes?

I want to inquire on this too, the case I will be using is a Context Engineering case, model 4012, 6" x 4" x 2.5". I will have to put the power supply sideways, if that adds to the problem. This is actually for an Opus but I have a feeling that a Buffalo can fit in as well...

I have the Buffalo32s with a balanced JT2 in a 2U rackmount case and it gets pretty hot in there. The heat sinks on the power supply are pretty hot and so is the actual converter chip.
I'd say the DAC chip runs at 50 degrees celsius in this closed case. I am considering getting the ventilated top plate.
The old Buffalo/IVY combination did seem to run lot cooler overall.

Yes, I would ventilate.
The heat on the board is actually coming from the heavy lifting of supplies and the opamps etc. :)
