hello
is it technically possible to tap the sacd digital signal straight from a multiplayer to feed the dsd signal into the Buffalo 32 and has anyone tried it yet?

Not possible because of industry agreements on copyright protection, SACD does not pass digital out on almost all consumer gear. Some high end gear can pass DSD but you need specialized/approved receivers. I think you will have better luck passing hi-res digital from a computer.

On some players it is possible to tap the non-encoded SACD (DSD) signal. You need to get the right player and you need to work on the inside. There is quite a bit on this around on the TPA forum (search for Denon, DSD or the likes) and on DIYaudio.com
The B32S takes DSD just fine.
