Dear all, I ordered the buffalo dac (based on ES9008) and i/v combo just at the end of last year. Today I managed to finish it. At first glance I was happy because it immediately locked on the digital output of my Arcam CD72 once I switched the Arcam on. It is also playing music. But then, after some time of listening (I did not notice it immediately) I noticed that something sounded strange. It is like the DAC - i/v stage continuously distorts. I use the SPDIF input, dips 1, 2, 4 are set to high, 3 to low. There is one strange thing I noticed. In order to hear what is going on, I used a test CD playing a sweep. Also here it sounds "distorted" not clean and what is really strange: The tone height rises with the sweep and suddenly it goes down (tone hight) a little bit and up again. In reality (with my Arcam) the tone increases until I cannot hear it again. One thing I want to add: the problem is the same on left and right channel. No difference. It plays at about the same volume as the Arcam CD72 output stage. I hope that someone can give me a hint where to look at the mistake. Thanks a lot in advance and best regards Christian Edited by user Monday, May 18, 2009 2:34:21 PM(UTC)
