For new Buffalo 32, do we really need Dual Power Supply?

Hi Brain, My Buffalo32 is still on the way. I have a question when I looking into the spec. I found that unlike the previous Buffalo DAC, Buffalo32 does not need dual power supply (Pervious Buffalo DAC use one for digital section and one for analog section). And even if you want to use the dual power supply for Buffalo32, you only use one of it's input/output (it's a good message for someone who has only one output avaiable from their transform). I want to confirm with you that my understanding is right. Looking forward for your answer, thanks in advance. Edited by user Monday, May 18, 2009 7:42:33 AM(UTC)

No, might not need a dual, but its nice to have the extra supply in case you want to add something like the MUX. :)
If you want you can use a single 5V output power supply.

There are so many things which may require power in a DAC that it's good to have a spare PS. It won't be long before you realize it's not really spare but you need it somewhere!

I´ll use the extra halv of the dual psu for the dddac usb pcb Actually I could use another halv for the supply voltage to my optical usb cable as well. better safe than sorry!
