I am waiting for the arrival of the Buffalo32 board and have been planning for the wiring changes this will require when I upgrade from my current Buffalo/IVY combo.

1. Is it okay to connect balanced and unbalanced chassis jacks in parallel without impacting quality?
2. When you now insert balanced JT2 boards into the equation, can you still simply connect the output of the JT2 in the same way?

Cheers

Thomas

Hello, if you want to use SE output with the JT2 I would recommend using a Ballsie Lite after the JT2. Otherwise the assymetrical load and the high output impedance of the JT2 might not be ideal.

Thanks Ruuis :-)

So for the balanced output the JT2 is okay but not for the unbalanced?

A stepped attenuator would also not be a good idea for the new Buffalo board in that case?

Cheers

1) Yes.
2) Correct because of the asymmetrical load.
3) A stepped attenuator is just fine. Just make sure that if you are using balanced output as well as SE that both outputs of the BUF32S are evenly loaded. The easiest way to do that is with the the Ballsie Lite.

Cheers!
