Dear Russ and Brian:

I owned a Denon DVD-1920 as SACD Transport, and ESI Juli@ as source of Hi-Resolution PCM file (24/88k-96k-176k-192k) with it's I2S out, no SPDIF or AES connection required, for Hi-Resolution playback only. I have my own tube based balanced to unbalance output buffer.

For lowest Jitter performance, should I add Metronome ASRC before I2S in of Opus? Can I wire both DSD and I2S input to Opus at the same time, and how can I switch between DSD/I2S? How many LCDPS unit I have to use?

Thank you for your attention.

In theory, yes. since the crystal in Metro is of better quality. I plan to switch between DSD/PCM in software mode and at the same time controlling a relay between the i2s and dsd signals. I use a single LCDPS for opus, metro, spdif receiver, toslink module and Micro-controller.

I plan on extracting the DSD signal from a Denon SACD player (same as what Russ has done). Then routing the 3 wires to the DAC and using software to switch. But have not done it yet. Right now I'm busy building a case for the micro-controller...

the best way would be to use an OTTO and switch between PCM and DSD.
