Hi, I have the OPUS/IVY combo. I'm very pleased from how OPUS sounds without the output stage in my setup. When i connect IVY, although SNR is clearly better, I lose some of the inner details of the music. I suspect poor build and materials stress from my side during construction (fried 4562 a couple of times) so I will build a new one from scratch. I’ would like to know what do I have to omit/jumper to IVY in order to have as an only function of IVY the DC offset removal, no analog filtering and the balanced to SE conversion. Thanks in advance, Tassos

Hi,
Which version of the board do you have?
You can omit C1-4, and R17-20(depending on which IVY version you have).
Cheers! Russ

The board version is 2.01. 1. For such a design like IVY, is it more important to use low tolerance components (like the 0.1% IRCs provided) or a less accurate (1%) but appraised (see expensive) tantalums? 2. Could I try a OPA627 as a replacement for LM4562?
Thanks for your time

1) The type of resistor is up to you. All that really matters is the pairs are matched as closely as practical. 2) No you need a dual opamp. Cheers! Russ Edited by user Thursday, March 26, 2009 2:38:59 PM(UTC)
