Can I safely use the Ballsie module as a general-purpose balanced to single ended "adaptor" between balanced sources and single ended power amps? Anything particular to be careful with? Thanks.

It will work just fine.

Nothing really to worry about. But you might want to adjust gain if its too high or low.

I cannot seem to locate any info on the Ballsie power requirement. I can see it needs a bipolar supply. What voltage range? Approx. current draw?
