Russ and other members,
Has anyone experiences to use a buffer for I2S signals.
I take the I2S data from a juli@ audiocard to feed the Buffalo DAC.
The I2S signal is very weak.

I should want to do this for 2 reasons.
1. Be able to use longer cables.
2. i can imagine that with use of a fast optocoupler rf distortion from the pc can be rejected.

Like this one: http://www.amppower.de/A...iles/files/MII/66012.pdf

Should it work?

My fear would be that it would add a lot of phase noise/jitter. I would not suggest it. I2S lines should be short.

If you need long lines use SPDIF or AES/EBU.

Cheers!
