Occasionally the volumite on my Buffalo(1.1 Rev.) DAC loses control of the volume and adjusting the pot does nothing. This occurs mostly when playing at lower volumes. I then have to turn the DAC off and on again for the volumite to function again. The volumite is wired directly to the Buffalo at G/SDA/SCL and VD. Any idea what may be the cause? Hello, did you populate the voltage regulator on the Volumite?

Are you using LCDPS? And have you double checked your wiring for loose or shorted wires? Any pics?

Yes to both questions. Would it help if I increased the voltage from 6.0V to 6.5-7.0V. I am also powering a MUX and TORX from VD. Edited by user Saturday, January 10, 2009 1:55:53 AM(UTC)

No, the Volumite's vreg doesn't require that much headroom. Does it also happen at higher volumes? Maybe it is just less noticeable then... If it were a bad pot, turning the pot again would most likely stop it. The volume position should have no affect on voltage of the board, unless maybe there is an intermittent short somewhere. Pictures of the top and bottom of the board would definitely help. The only other thing I can think of is a loose connection between the modules. You could try tack soldering the wires to the bottom of the Volumite's terminal block to see if it solves the problem. Just measuring for conductivity would not highlight a loose connection as it is intermittent. Edited by user Saturday, January 10, 2009 8:04:06 AM(UTC)
