Looking for the manual. What's up with the 3.3V reg. Maybe not required if using a 3.3V supply from another board? Also, where is pin 1 on the 8 pin IC, I'd have to guess that when viewing the chip with the printing right side up, ie the word Buffalo at the top, the number 1 pin is on the leftmost on bottom row of pins!? Hi, Yes the little jumper is there for cases where you havce a supply that is the same voltage as your target. :) In this case you can omit the VREG and just install the jumper. In the case of the Buffalo you can omit the two resistors if you like (but you do not have to) since the buffalo already pulls up the I2C signals. I have not had a chance to post the manual yet. I will have it done later today. :) Have you found pin #1 yet? It should be marked on the chip. Cheers! Russ Edited by user Tuesday, November 18, 2008 6:56:59 AM(UTC)

Thanks for the reply. Volumite is up and running. I notice detail in recordings using balanced outs from IVY into the 'Twisted X Overture' that I did not notice running unbalanced via IVY > Alps pot > TXO.

There is nothing so nice as a direct analog path. :)

Hi guys, I dived in the minute the volumite was up on the site, ordered, and it arrived on my doorstep today, very good service. I just looked online for the schematic/manual to begin assembly and have just noticed the $5 'firmware" add on. Maybe I didnt see this previously, im sure it wasnt there when I first ordered, but anyway, what actually is this - do i now have to order/pay/wait another week to get this as the the volumite wont work without it ???

I wired it all in and it works wonderfully - so ignore my previous concerns.

No. This is just an easier way for me to track and pack the orders. No Volumite has shipped without firmware.

See the pic for proper orientation. In the future, I will make better labels. :) Brian Donegan attached the following image(s): DSCN2230.JPG (76kb) downloaded 248 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.
