Brian/Russ and others--
I'm curious how you recommend cleaning flux off of the pcb boards. I've tried isopropyl alcohol and also techspray flux remover and brushing with a horsehair brush but both approaches often leave the boards cloudy. I'm not sure if any of the twistedpear boards are still soldered by hand, but they've always been sparkling clean when received.
How do you clean them?

That's really going to depend on the type of flux you use. Some are water soluble, others not.
I use solder paste (smt) and solder (hand soldering) with "no-clean" flux, and a "no-clean" flux pen. This is a light-weight flux that burns off very quickly, but is also not very acidic, so leaving it on the board does not result in long-term damage like heavier fluxes (acid slowly dissolving metal traces). It cleans up easily with isopropyl alcohol.
I also use an ultrasonic cleaner when I have to clean smt stencils or very dirty circuit boards. For a cleaning solution, I use water with a "glug" of stencil cleaner.
