Hello! I am looking to get into DSD and my current Neko Audio D100 Mk2 does not support that. I love the analog warmth of the Neko so I am fearful of going down this path with the Sabre chip but the reviews seem to speak for themselves. Curious if anyone else has gone from a traditional analog DAC to the Sabre and their impressions?
My requirements are USB input for DSD and S/PDIF for my CD transport.
If I have it figured correctly, I need: - BIIISEPro38 w/Full Regulator Set - Centaur PS (to supply DAC & USB stack) - 30VA 9+9 Tx - Mercury I/V w/Placid HD BP - 50VA 15+15 Tx - Amanero-Hermes-Cronus Combo w/45/49 Clocks
Planning to keep the chassis simple with just digital volume, input switch (S/PDIF BNC to SPDIF u.FL or USB with DCK/D1/D2 u.FL to Cronus) and then Power, Lock & Mute LED's
I saw some BNC to u.FL cables on eBay but they are 50-ohm. Since u.FL is 50-ohm, I am assuming it doesn't matter since there will be an impedance discontinuity somewhere in order to feed the u.FL anyway. I can minimize the cable length or use a 75-ohm BNC and solder the coax to it. Suggestions on which works best?
Just looking for a sanity check that I am on the right path and ordering the right parts!
Thanks in advance ...
