Dear Russ,

I own a Buffalo es9038pro board. I would like to try the Sync master mode provided in the new firmware that you have kindly made available:

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/...-9038-a-post5405323.html

I have a Sparkfun Tiny AVR programmer and a few tiny 85 new chips.
the programmer is the same as you suggested:

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/...-9038-a-post5407146.html

After many attempts to program the chip through Arduino IDE, I had to give up.
It seems that it isn' t possible to flash the code in hex format.

Do you want to please help me understand how to program the microprocessor with the new firmware?

I am a beginner so I ask you kindly a step by step procedure.

Thank you in advance

Kind regards

Hi,

did you set the correct fuses?

Also, it's better to use some other wrapper over the avrdude, something like AVR Burn-O-Mat for example.

As Fred posted I would suggest using AVRDude with a GUI add on to make it far more user friendly. I use AVRDUDESS which seems to work extremely well. (I just burned a couple of ATTinty 85 chips with it).

AVRDUDESS is very straightforward, you should be able to figure it out, if you are using the programmer you noted you set it as follows:

Programmer: USBtiny
MCU: ATtiny85
Then add the link to the hex file in the Flash dialog box, set the fuse bits in the fuse dialog box, write the fuses and then hit the Program button.

I don't think you can use the Arduino IDE to burn a hex file (at least not without a lot of hacking).
