Looking at the Amanero web site it look like I can add just the Amanero board to the Buffalo with out the Hermes-Cronus boards. Is this true I have been searching for help on this and I am having problems finding useful information. I have a Buffalo SE/Lagato working with SPDIF and want to add USB I have tried a HIMED board but had no lick getting that to work so I would like to try the Amanero

got the Amanero thanks for the quick shipping just superb a bit confused though there is no LRCK on the Amanero, so what does D1 (on Buff SE) connect to? and I am assuming the ground needs to be connected also Edited by user Tuesday, May 31, 2016 8:26:10 PM(UTC)

I would not recommend anything but bus power for the Amanero until you have it working. :) And even then there will no real benefit because it won't be isolated.

It's used from programming (specifically erasing the firmware) - you can leave it off unless you are going to program the firmware on the Amanero (in which case you only short it when you want to erase). Yes FSCLK is the same as Word Clock - LRCK. It goes to D1. Edited by user Tuesday, May 31, 2016 10:19:54 PM(UTC)

Thanks Graperain I will probably go this way soon. Just got Raspberry Pi music server working using RuneAudio op sys. A bit tedious to get up an running for me because of no Linux knowledge but with the help of a very good forum it is now working great, completely compatible with the Amanero/SE combo and allowed me to get the computer out of the sound room

Where is the information about this If you isolate, you really want to re-clock afterwards, as the isolator chips typically add a few hundred pS of jitter to the data stream. This is why the Hermes/Cronus exists, to get the lowest possible jitter right at the input of the ESS chip.
