The right DAC board on my dual mono BIII has high DC output. I was unable to null DC on the right channel balanced output of two Legatos I tried. It still played, but had high DC output. I tried my two DAC's separately with my two Legato's. The left DAC, no issues with either Legato. I can null DC on SE and balanced out. The right dac caused power to sag for the Placid HD BP powering the Legato (which worked fine with my right DAC) and I get like .569v DC on the right output I cannot null. Is this a DAC chip issue or something else on the board I can check? It was my slave DAC, and I did remove address header jumper and removed the R7 jumper before testing it. You should remove and test the Tridents and the board without them to see if there is still a short.

Thank you Brian. I did test voltages on the Tridents and LED's light up normally but I didn't think of removing them. |

I am crossing fingers and toes and hoping that it is just trident swapping that will do the trick

I did some testing today. With the suspect v1.0.1 'right' DAC board installed on Legato, swap all the Tridents and AVCC from the 'left' DAC. .569v DC on right channel balanced out across pos and neg balanced. Power down, remove all Tridents/AVCC, power on, no DC. Power down, install AVCC, power up, got my DC back on right channel balanced. Input voltage 5.10, out 3.5 both sides of AVCC. With lighted magnifier I could not find anything shorting (solder bits, wire strand, etc) on top or bottom of board. Thanks, Edited by user Monday, March 21, 2016 12:05:12 AM(UTC)
