Brian or Russ: If I want to set a Placid HD for 3.3volts, what secondary voltage on transformer would you recommend? I'm ordering a custom toroid, and I want to add additional set of secondaries in case I want to separately power a USB interface at 3.3volts in the future. Thanks, Doug Riedel Actually, please let me know if 9Volt would be ok or if it is too high. If 9 volts is ok I want to use it in case instead I add another DAC device. It will be for a Rigisystems USBPAL interface, and according to the specs it draws 0.132 amp.

P.S.: I happen to have an extra Placid HD (not 2.1) which is why I'm considering this. Is the adjustable Pot. able to get voltage to 3.3v, or are modifications required?

I think the 9V trafo should be fine for that application.
