Hi,

I'm interested in the OTTO-II switch for a PCM/DSD application. Twistead Pear Audio gives you the chance to buy it with U.fl connectors. I'm not sure what is the advantage of this and if I should buy them also. I want to connect the switch to an amanero USB card (www.amanero.com) and a Metronome upsampler(PCM)/Opus DAC directly for DSD. Can someone advise me on this?

Thanks.

Best Regards

If you were connecting to another board that had u.fl connectors, then they can make sense to use. They offer shielding of the individual I2S data lines, reducing both radiated and induced noise. They are by no means required, however.

Since the other boards you are planning to use do not have them, I recommend using either the supplied terminal block connections or direct soldering.

Incidentally, we also sell the Amanero modules if you need one.

Thank you Brian.

In the mentioned configuration (using the OTTO with DSD direct from the amanero to the DAC) would you advise the master clock of the system being the amanero MCLK or , in other way, derived from the metronome to the others and even when Metronome is muted (no PCM)?

thanks again.
