Hi, I'm looking to build my own DAC. Currently I'm using a plain and simple DAC which comes from China (ebay) but I'm sure there are better DAC's around. And so I found the Buffalo IIISE which seems to be really astonishing. But I do have some questions. - does it have a pair of analogue outputs? I want to connect this DAC to my diy-tubeamp. - does it has an pair of analogue inputs? If yes it would be nice to connect my turntable to it. Otherwise I'll just build a tube pre-amp . :-) - do you sell a kit which contains everything? So every electronic component, transformers, cinch or other connectors, cables, in a word: everything? (apart from the housing) thanks for your answer, Paul Edited by user Wednesday, November 26, 2014 1:22:28 PM(UTC)

Hi Paul,
Welcome to the TPA world. Here you can only find enthousiasts! :)
You can choose what you want for your input. I use digital DSD signals from the PC but I have also Toslink, BNC and RCA connectors installed.
The output is analogue. You can set the system up as Single Ended or Balanced. Probably it must also be possible to output digital signals.
It is not just one kit you can buy but several modules which you can configure to meet your own demands.
For instance you need; - Power Supplies (Placid HD and HDBP or LCDS), - The DAC module (which comes with several additional modules) - The Pre-Amplifier. (with it's analogue outputs) The components sold here are of very high quality and very versatile!
Try to read Leon's Integration Guide and surf trough the treads on the forum. I think you will be informed soon enough ;)

Ah, an integration guide, nice ! :-)) I see you're located in Amsterdam, so we could speak Dutch if you like? I suppose you guessed already I'm not really on Antartica. But perhaps we'll just keep it nice and international. Ehm, in a word, what's Balanced and Single Ended? I know what SE means in the tube world, but you mean something different, don't you? Paul EDIT : forget it : Google helped me to find out. ;-) It'll be SE then. Edited by user Wednesday, November 26, 2014 5:36:11 PM(UTC)

Dat zou kunnen, maar dat doen we dus niet...
To answer your questions: - Yes - No - No The guide will give you suggestions, but this is and remains DIY. It's up to you to decide how you want to build it. All of the modules are sold very complete, but without connectors or case. Wiring is included in some cases, mainly for items that are hard to get.

The first one is a YES that's the most important. :-)
No problem about the language ;-)
PS : you've got strange smileys: the normal ones are missing : the normal smile, a wink and the very happy smile. ;-)
