Hi, I am connecting a Buffalo III to an Amanero usb-i2S board. From what I understand it is possible to for PCM and DSD to be passed without the need to switch using this input configuration.  You can find the whole discussion here http://hifiduino.wordpre...ode-and-buffalo-iii-dac/My only doubt is that checking with a tester, it seems to me that bridging D2, D3 and D4 on the Buffalo III requires briging JPCM1 and JPCM2 rather than JPCM2 and JPCM3 as indicated in the picture. Miero's solution should work - but it is probably a bit easier to just solder JPCM1 and JPCM2 as well as JDSD1 and JDSD2
You are correct that JPCM3 is not involved in this case.

I think then that the info on p. 33 of the Integration Guide is incorrect. I think it should be JPCM1 joining d2-d3, jpcm2 joining d3-d4 and jpcm3 d4-d5 or something similar.

Hi,
i have connected it to an Amanero usb/i2s board. Input jumpers as per Russ's indication above. I2s from the Amanero: DATA to D2, FSCLCK to D1, BCLK to DCLCK, ground to ground. All voltages measure correctly. The lock light is on, but i get no sound.
These are my switches configurations:
Sw1:
1 On
2 On
3 on
4 off
5 off
6 off
7 off
8 on
Sw2:
5 and 8 off
all others are on
Any obvious mistake with the switches or am I in teouble?

Solved.
I used a new cable to connect the Amanero to the Buffalo. In case it helps anybody it is made of three twisted pair of CAT5 as opposed three sections of 50 Ohm mini coax. The only explanation I have is that the cat 5 cables makes a very nice connection to the IDC socket while the coax was soldered to the very small pins of ditto socket. The soldering job was less than neat (though no shorts or wrong connections) given the sizes involved. Stray inductance?
Anyway, all's well...

This just bit me in the ass. Took a while to debug, and I only found this information after finding the issue and fixing it myself. Leon, would you be so kind as to update the manual (I'm using 2.1.3, the latest available at the time of writing) so that other people don't go through the same thing. Thanks!
