Hello,

I have, on hand, Placid HD version 1 and Placid HD-BP version 1. I have also the new Placid HD-BP version 2.1.

I plan to build 8 channel DAC with 4 OPUSs and 4 IVY IIIs (Active crossover purposes driven by JRiver).

Should I buy the Placid HD version 2.1 also and just use it along with the new HD-BP v. 2.1 to power the 4 OPUSs and 4 IVY IIIs (Saving my Placid HD-BP vers 1 for another project)?

Or would it be worth the effort to get an additional Placid HD version 2.1 so I can power 2 OPUS/2 IVY IIIs with the version 1's and the other 2 OPUS/2 IVY IIIs with the version 2.1s? so I could essentially separate what will be the left channel side from the right channel side

If you recommend the the later, is there any detriment to mixing the version 1's with the 2.1's ?

And finally, any word on OPUS stock? I need one more!

Thanks,
Doug Riedel

Technically yes I think it would, but it would require some tweakage. :)

I would personally use as least 2 - and one per Opus would be even better.

I just ordered more Opus. So they will be here in a couple of weeks.
