After several years in my closet, I decided to put together the parts for a Dual Mono build with the older 1.2 Buffalo boards (ES9008) and a pair of Ivy II boards. Each board works correctly independently as stereo DACs. But, when wired for Dual Mono, I get wrong left to right channel placement and phasing issues. It is currently wired as recommended by the various manuals and guides. I tried using the Volumite with ADDR on Right channel shorted. I tried with on board controller for both boards with I2C connected between boards. Same issues. No stereo image. Would it be a firmware issue? Or simply a wiring problem? One thing to note that is that I built the DAC as two a chassis design. Right now only the left channel exhibits a high frequency slightly audible noise. Right channel is noiseless. (But that might just be RF pickup by the I2S wires.) Reading the archives, it seems this a problem in Dual Mono builds, but mostly due to wiring issues. But, I've tried various wirings schemes with the same result. I plan to order a Buffalo IIISE and IVY III to replace the current configuration, and just live with a single board stereo setup for now. But, it would be helpful to determine what is exactly the problem with this current build. Thanks.
