I just got around to assembling this V1.2 SPDIF 4:1 board for a single BIII I am building. I get no SPDIF signal through any of the four inputs to the DAC. I am using Arduino, not sure if that makes any difference with the V1.2 board. I am powering the board from the BIII DAC board/ribbon cable at 5v. I even tried it in my dual mono DAC (also w/Arduino controller) where the SPDIF board is powered separately at 4.6v and it didn't work in there either. My solder joints look good, but I can redo them. Any other input? I have a V1.0 SPDIF board that did work with the single BIII through one input. I can't recall which version SPDIF 4 is in my dual mono DAC, but it switches between all four inputs. Thanks. Edited by user Saturday, February 15, 2014 4:31:08 AM(UTC)

Can you show how you have the inputs wired?
if you are able (very very carefully) check that you are getting 3.3V out of the local regulator.

It's the vreg. When I installed the chips on the first couple of these boards, I accidentally installed 1.2V regulators, mistaking the "033" marking for the 3.3V version (I have both chips in stock). I can send you a replacement kit, just the chip, or swap the chip for you. Whichever you prefer.

Thanks very much for the generous options. Since I have trouble with the real tiny stuff I'd like to return it and have you swap it out. I'll PM for address info.
Thanks Brian! |

I'm glad I saw this thread today! My SPDIF board did work either and it looks like I have same 1.2V regulator as ScompRacer?
