Hi.

Manual said 7.5VDC is recommended.
But should Opus works with 5VDC?

thanks

The Opus has two LP2985 on-board regulators. One 3.3V for the digital sections, and one 5V for the analog sections.

You need to use an input voltage that gives the 5V regulator room to operate.

According to the datasheet, the dropout voltage will be around .5V, meaning you need to provide at least 5.5V to ensure proper operation of the 5V regulator. I safer bet would be something >6V.

We came up with 7.5V as a recommendation because it provides plenty of headroom for the Opus and the other modules you would likely use it with (S/PDIF Transceiver, etc).
