I've got an urge to put together a network stereo player for my main stereo stack. My plan for now is Volumio running on a CuBox-i4Pro. The CuBox has toslink out. I'm interested in the possibility of using Twisted Pear Audio components to put together the toslink -> s/pdif -> DAC -> line stage preamp. The amplifier inputs will be RCA jacks. Would these modules work for this? TOSLINK OPTICAL INPUT MODULE KIT S/PDIF TRANSCEIVER MODULE OPUS - A BALANCED DAC IVY III BALANCED LINESTAGE Are there other solutions here? I'm able to solder and do some DIY construction, but I'll need some advice on getting all the project details. http://volumio.org/devices/#CuBoxhttp://cubox-i.com/table/

That would work very well. You will also need power supplies for the various modules. Another alternative would be a COD DAC in place of the Opus. You could also use a Buffalo-IIIse DAC in place of the Opus and S/PDIF Transceiver, as it has S/PDIF built in. Edited by user Saturday, December 28, 2013 3:43:27 PM(UTC)
