I have a S/PDIF Transceiver (WM8804) that I am using with a Dual Mono COD/Legato setup. I was reading various articles about isolation and grounding and stumbled on the thread here about adding the Newave Pulse Transformer to the input on the transceiver.

I had a few questions about how to properly implement that ( I am a novice at electronics). I compared the schematics for the inputs on the newer transceivers. Could I just add the 470-1003-ND upstream of the existing input with a small cap in front of that?

Input 1 -> 220nf Cap -> 470-1003-ND pin 1 -> 470-1003-ND pin 3->SPDIF_IN.1
Input 2 ---------------->470-1003-ND pin 2->470-1003-ND pin 4---->SPDIF_IN.2

I assume that I should isolate the SPDIF input jack from the chassis.

Thanks

Mike

That should work. Yes, isolate the jack from the chassis.
