Hi All!

I am hoping that those out there that have more experience and have successfully built a Buffalo IIISE can help out. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'll be as brief as possible. Here are the specifics.

Adjusted VR1A/B (450) and VR2A/B (1K) per instructions in Placid HD BP Power Supply User Manual (Revision 1.0).

Here are the readings I obtained after VR1/VR2 pre-adjustments:

AC Input Voltages: 17.94 (A) 17.94 (B)
Vin 22.7 (A) 22.5 (B)
CCS 22.7 (A) 22.5 (B)
Out (at term Blocks) 11.4 (A) 21.9 (B)
TP Out 11.4 (A) 21.9 (B)
TP Shunt 11.4 (A) 21.9 (B)
V REF 3.7 (A) 3.8 (B)

Transformer is Avid-Lindberg Y236103 30VA. Primary wiring is Yellow to S1A, Orange to S1B, Red to S2A, Black to S2B.

All LED's are lit and appear normal.

Any ideas why the Out voltages are what they are?

On a related build, on the Placid HD PSU build that I just finished (same project), I was finally was able to get a 5.25V output. However, the VR1 CCS adjustment is all the way out (screw turned all that way out (counterclockwise) and no further adjustment is there; the CCS is now at 3.53V and I cannot get it any lower to the .35V (across R8, per Revision 1.0a, PCB Revsion 2.0.1) recommended value. FYI: I have a Version 1.0 PCB--I have been unable to locate a specific manual for this particular PCB.

The heatsink temperatures of HD unit (not BP unit mentioned above) are 124 degrees F. on QN2 & 152 degrees F. for QN1 (all temps measured on unit not heat sink).
Any suggestions?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply avr300!

Both issues (HD & BP) have been solved. It was just a matter of adjusting the VR's on both boards. I don't know why the BP output voltages were so off. But I was able to get them to recommended specs adjusting the VR's.

Now it is on to connecting PSU's to the Legato/IIISE/Tridents/AVCC integrated unit.

I will post pics to Project Gallery later on in the project...

Once again, thank you for responding!
