I would like supply the XO circuit of Baffalo DAC with both battery and Trident/ mains, and be able to switch between both.
My first thought was to leave the Trident as close as possible to the DAC and therefor put the switch before Vin of the trident. But this would mean that when not powering the trident but looping in the battery 3,3V, that at the output of the trident there would also be the 3,3V. - Is that harmful to it?
The other way would be to put the switch after Vout of the trident. And just switch between the 3,3V of the battery and the 3,3V of the trident out. But, in this setup, the trident out is not as close as possible to the clock and therefore not my first choice. Is that right indeed, or crab anyway?

Thanks,

Florian

You would not want to apply voltage at the output of the trident when it is unpowered.
