Well, I originally had everhthing figured out but then I added an opus to my very soon to be started desktop amp build.
I originally planned to enclose a Millet Hybrid Max with an OptiVol volume controller, Darwin and either an Alien or Opus USB module so I would have multiple analog inputs, a USB in, a pre-out (run through the Max) and likely a bypass output.
I had planned on having the Alien DAC or Opus USB module powered directly from the USB input. Max would be powered by a 25v+25v toroid. The OptiVol would get power directly from one of the LED spots on the Max and for the Darwin I planned to build a simple 5v supply and tie that into another LED mount on the Max.
But then I went and complicated things and decided I probably wouldn't be happy with just an Alien or an Opus USB module and ordered an Opus DAC and the USB module. I also have a LCDPS.
So here's the problem. Everything will be housed in a 12"x12" enclosure (maybe 14"wx12"d if I can find one, but I can't really go wider than that) So I only have about a 5"x6" space for the toroid... thus I really can only fit a single toroid. So, what would be the best way to power everything?
