I'm trying to troubleshoot a Buffalo III which I haven't been able to get working. What's the minimum configuration for testing one out?

Currently, I've got it down to Buffalo III - single S/PDIF level converter – coax input from Oppo player. The mute LED is lit constantly, but the lock LED isn't lighting, and there's no sound out.

You should have enough assuming all the Tridents and AVCC are in place.

Juts make sure you have selected the right SPDIF input selected.

I should've mentioned that I've got Paul Hynes regulators powering the Buffalo, and I've gone through and confirmed all of their voltages.

Since it's a single S/PDIF level converter, I didn't think that there was any way / need to select the input. It's connected to pins 3 & 4 of the input cable (as counted from the left side).

Another weird thing is that there's no voltage on any of the input connector pins, so I had to power the single S/PDIF level converter with 5.25 VDC from a separate source.
