Just received v1.0 of this board (May, 2013)
There is no RS<Z> resistor placement on this board.

Anyway....it looks like R5-16 are always 4.7k,
and it is R1-4 that are altered to meet the requirements of various external inputs.
(correct so far ?)

Of the 4 available inputs, I certainly need:

A) typical consumer (rca coax jack)
B) TOSLINK (from the module TP sells, using it's 270/75 ohm resistors)
C) AES/EBU (RME soundcard, XLR digital cable)
D) undetermined

The 4-Channel S/PDIF kit I received includes these choices for R1-4:

0 ohm (TTL consumer)
10k (TTL)
75 ohm (no suggestion)
43 ohm (AES/EBU)
68 ohm (AES)

Forgive my confusion, but I am not sure which resistor choices apply to each of my "A,B,C" input needs ??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
>> note, to add to the confusion, my RME output specs are:
SPDIF
· 1 x RCA, transformer-balanced, galvanically isolated, according to AES3-1992
· Output level 0.8 Vpp
75 ohm
AES/EBU
as SPDIF, but XLR with output voltage 3.5 Vpp
110 ohm
.....so both of my soundcard outputs (SPDIF and AES/EBU) are already transformer isolated. Should I leave Xformers off, and leave the caps and the appropriate resistor dividers? (and put wire links or 0 ohms where the Xformers would be ?)
Are you sure your board is v1.0, not v1.1?
Yes, it has the printing " V.1_0 "
It looks exactly like the photo on page 13 of "Buffalo III/IIISE DAC Integration Guide".
From the guide: "The value of RSz only applies to version 1.1 S/PDIF-4 Input boards."
.....and there is no placement for RSz......there is only Rz ...(the four horizontally placed resistors, R1-R4.)
Interesting, I thought I had destroyed all the remaining v1.0 boards so this would not happen. I will send you the correct board tonight.
