Hi 2 all of U,

got some basic question about PSUs.

I have build my first piece of electronics for a long, long time and have succeeded to build a DAC. Man is that SMD part sized 0603 small to solder with my bare hands, but it is on the PCB and well soldered. However the DAC is in need of some major PSU improvement. What can you recommend to use for the various supply voltages. A transformator I have, it is the way asof than to the end pin on the DAC Board.

I have to provide the following:

1. A very clean 3.3V for analog part of the DAC
2. A probably not so clean 3.3V for the digital part of the DAC
3. A plus/minus 12-18V for the opamps building the I/V and the output buffer

For the last one (3) I think of using the Placid HD-BP. I guess this is OK ?

If yes, for the FJPF1943OTU (not deliverable from my sources) the replacement FJA4213OTU specs are pretty much the same it is only the 130 Watt edition instead of the 80 Watt. The O letter in the OTU gives the same hFE, so theoretically it would be OK, wouldn't it be for the housing being a TO-3P and that does probably not fit on the PCB ?

Any recommendation here are much welcomed.

For the first two I'm not sure and would like to read ur recommendations for the way from transformator to DAC board. I would like to use the Placid as well but are not sure it would go down to 3.3V though ?

BTW: I'm currently using AD797 for both the I/V and the output buffer/filter, any recommendations here would be much appreciated as well, especially on the output buffer/filter.

I don't think that my current setup with 7815/7915 and 2x LM1117 will get all the potential out of a ES9018, but it plays well I must admit. Playing a DSD 2.8 stream is quit nice to put it mildly, well I was stunned, to be honest ...

Keep to good work going, especially on the long awaiting ADC.

TIA,

Peter.
